DKB doing business as The Dave Kardas Band is infused with the fusion of many different music styles, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock and Country and blessed with the blues. Blazing bassist Brian Buster and flawless drummer Tony Filyaw drive the engine behind Dave's guitar. These men have been on busy on the scene everywhere from NYC's famed Iridium Club and Toads Place New Haven to Amarillo Music Hall down in Austin, Texas, and rockin' radio waves from Time Squares' Real Radio Show to The Midnight Special Blues Radio in Paris, France. Band often rocks out at The Fez in Stamford, Greewich Village Bistro NYC, The Underground NYC and The Shrine in Harlem.
DKB plays for the people and what they want to hear and will have them dancing, hopping or just totally rocking out. We want to bring people together at our shows. Thier original compositions have been played on the Radio as well as a performance of "Clouds" on Channel 8 ABC in New Haven, Ct.
As a graduate of The Hartt School of Music, Dave is steeped deep in the tradition having studied with jazz giant Jackie McLean and also supplementing his studies with guitar wizards Sal Salvador and Larry Coryell. Drinking from the musical well of Mike Stern, Larry Carlton, John Scofield and Stevie Ray, Dave's playing is an amalgam of the best.
